13 or 14 550i xdrive M Sport vs 1LE - daily driving with kids

I want the 1LE so bad, but I don't know. There are so many good cars out there for the money. Like 13/14 550i M sport or the 2012 Mercedes e550 4matic.

Quick someone browbeat with repair cost estimates

Yep, it is. I like the 12/13 e550 (sedan) a little more than the 14+ but they are both really nice.

2012 was the first year for the 4.6 twin turbo.. I'm sure it's stout. 2010-2013 definitely look better in person than I'm pictures.. Nice classy design. Will age well.

Those are nice cars to fall asleep in. I don't see how they are comparable to a Camaro though, especially a 1LE.

Do you want a luxury sedan or a performance car?

Used BMW and Mercedes that are out of warranty can be expensive to maintain and repair... how's that?

Why don't you just get a cheaper DD/Kid-hauler and a 1LE or used gen6 SS? I drive an AWD 2012 Charger (5.7) when it rains, snows or I have my son. It's very reliable, has ever available feature (heated and cooled everything, blind spot, etc.) and they're dirt cheap. Caddies are another car that depreciates a lot, so you can find a nicer ride for cheap. My Charger's only worth about $10-12k and insurance is a hell of a lot cheaper than it would be a MB or BMW. I plan on canceling it during the winter (everything except theft) since I would drive the Camaro anyway. In my analysis it was cheaper overall to get the Camaro as a second car than it was to get a new or CPO Audi, MB, or BMW.

Edit - A used Infinit G35x or G37x is another good sedan that can be had for cheap and go forever. Depending on how big your kids are, you probably don't have to go all SUV or mini van. A large car works fine for me and I have single 7 year-old. Even if I had 2 I would be fine.

Also look at the new 2017 Cadillac XT5s. The S.O. pick it over the Mercedes or BMW. I was thing a Caddy? Really? But is was a wise choice. Much nicer than our friend's 2016 BMW X5. It's a whole new ballgame with Cadillac's new CEO.
