how are your ventilated seats?
so i have had a Cadillac in the past with them and i have also been in a dodge ram that has had them. they seem to have worked way better than the ones in my 6th gen. the whole time i am useing them i cant tell if they are working.. i used them 2 months ago after leaving the mall in the winter with my jacket and jeans on and it seemed like the seat became arctic. now i cant even feel it through a t-shirt. i went to a dealer and tried to compare to another 6th gen and it didnt seem all that diffrent.. i wanna know if they just suck or if maybe i should look into getting them replaced. my back was dreanched from a 30 min drive in 70 degrees with it on...

Mine are pretty weak. I can feel just a little coolness creeping out when on high. It's what I'd expect low to feel like. I can't imagine ever using low or medium, and it hasn't really gotten hot here yet. So, yeah, seems they are just not very good in the Camaro.

Its been keeping my back from getting sticky against the leather seat, so I am happy.

Most of the air comes from the "seat" area & not the backrest. When I tried the a/c in the seats on an 80 degree day, my butt & lower back got chilled pretty quick. I think they work fine, they just weren't meant to cool all the way up your back.

I like them. They keep your back and butt from getting sticky and sweaty. They are not meant to freeze you! Lol.

Mine work as intended, I have had times that it feels they are not working, but they were... it was just my body temperature in that area being cooled.

And to answer your question OP, I think the ventilated seats flat out stink. Definitely doesn't cool you down like the other systems I have experienced in my girlfriend's Jeep and my parents' Lexus. Part of the reason I got the 2SS too. |

I would say they are kinda weak however having never had AC seats I have nothing to compare them to. However for long trips they do make a difference because although I may not necessarily "feel" them if I turn them off then I can feel my butt/back start to get hot pretty quick.

"Weak" definitely sums it up. Then again, its my first experience with them so I have nothing to compare them to.

Well...they aren't cooling, or A/C....keep that in mind. They are ventilated. That just means air blowing out of the perforations.
In the same day, same car...I turned them on and felt chilled...then later in the day turned them on and "didn't notice"...but I DID notice that I wasn't sticking to the leather after a long drive...so they worked. They're not meant to cool you off... |
