Simply take off the two outer bolts on the air dams. No need to take the entire thing off. I actually used them to help hold the splitter in place and to align it.

I bought the splitter but it didn't come with hardware. I was planning on using push pins instead of rivets anyway. Are the bolts that were supposed to be in the kit longer than the existing bolts, or can I re-use the existing bolts?

The bolts int he kit are longer. I would contact your dealer, they should be able to get you the hardware.

Does anyone have the "2016 Camaro SS Front Splitter (Front Fascia Extension) Install Guide" in PDF format that a person may print off of the site to do this install. The instructions that were in the box for the slitter said to ask your local dealer to print them out. Of course this is found out after a person has returned home from the dealership.

Unfortunately I curbed my front slitter and need a replacement. This topic is a year old now. Wondering if anyone recommends any of the aftermarket replacements over OEM?

If you like the OEM look but not it's fragility then check ours out. When I bought mine from GM and it showed up as broken plastic I knew it wouldn't live on a car. So, molded it and offer it in fiberglass (won't break as easy and if it does easily repairable) and carbon fiber...

I cracked my front splitter. I installed a new one following much of Glen e's advice. I used braided fishing line (20 lb test) to cut through the old adhesive after drilling out the rivets and removing the screws. Peeling off the adhesive residue was the longest part of the job, as it did not respond to Goo Gone.
My replacement splitter came from Mangino Buick in MA for about $500 incl. shipping. The box included a packing slip from Vehicle Outfitters in MA with an invoice price of $420. Based on the VO website, they sell only to dealers.
I used the exact plastic push rivets recommended by Glen e and purchased through amazon. I did not remove the backing on the tape when I installed. With the combination of screws and the push rivets the splitter is very secure. I cannot imagine it separating due to fastener failure.
Regarding the old splitter, I wish I would have saved all the broken pieces. The factory splitter is clearly marked ABS and I was able to successfully glue some of the fragments back together using IPS Weld-on #16 (available through amazon) with a strong bond. If I had all the pieces I probably could have glued the thing back together once it was off the car. The small seams would have been hard to notice for a piece that low on the car.

Would you mind sharing the size push pin rivets (maybe a part number if lucky) and drillbit? Perhaps a pic would be great as well. Atemping to follow your lead on mounting.
