Dropped off the 1LE at the dealership this morning to look at a ticking sound coming from drivers front wheel when turning. I discovered it while at the Tail of the Dragon. Hopefully they can get that figured out, I get really paranoid about sounds coming from the car.

This is a known issue, it's just some rust building up that needs to be cleaned out.

I did torque them up, I didn't pop off the wheel. I don't have my tools yet. They are stuck in a POD on the way to my new place. I torqued the wheel and it didn't fix it. If the dealership can't figure it out or reproduce it then I will give that a try. Should get my stuff in another 10 days or so.

I stripped about 80 lbs outta the car... Removed the sunroof, bunch of plastic panels, seat belts, couple of speakers, and I'm trying my hand at making a carbon fiber delete panel to fill the hole because you can't find one to purchase anywhere...

Car has been at dealership for over 2 days. They told me a tech was trying to replicate the sound coming from front driver side wheel. The sound only shows up when you are turning with some load on the front wheels like an off ramp or a sweeping turn. First time I have experienced first hand "dealership could not replicate the issue." I told them to take off the front driver side wheel and try to clean the mating surface. They said I could come get it later today whether they could or could not replicate the sound and would note it on the invoice.

Did a 5 tire rotation and took it for a spin... wait that was the Willys.

I took Sharky out for lunch and a cruisin' around with he top down for a few hours. Been hibernating all week due to rain!

Was a fun cruise, very fun car to drive.

Been thinking about doing this. How much of a pain in the ass was it? Did you use anything special to get it off cleanly?

Used 99% alcohol. I should have let the soaked paper towel sit on it longer because I had a lot of glue to scrub off. I was concerned seeing a lot of micro glue particles stuck in the fabric I wasn’t able to scrub out. It was very visible even in shadows. Cooking it with a heat gun evaporated all of it and singed the fibers I lifted up from scrubbing the glue off with a alcohol satiated towel too hard. That was fantastic. All worth it in the end. Just had my hands suspended above my head for 30+ minutes because I couldn’t remove the electric 2SS visors so it was tiring.

I used these on my last Camaro, but haven't gotten around to picking up a new set.

I was going to use that as a backup if it didn’t look good.
