1 Piece driveshaft vibrations above 55mph

recently had my rear end rebuilt (2nd time) and upgraded the driveshaft to a 1 piece DSS chromoly this 2nd time. Since the rebuild i've been getting a bit of vibration at 55mph and gets worse the higher I go, I was told this can be normal to notice some vibrations when switching from a 2 piece driveshaft to a 1 piece. is anyone else using this driveshaft and not experiencing any vibration? just to be sure its the driveshaft i'm going to have tires balanced incase something was messed up when the rear end decided to explode but i'm almost positive its the driveshaft

I have the one piece GForce aluminum DS and it’s smooth but definitely feels less isolated than the OEM 2 piece. No surprise since the one piece DS ditches the OEM rubber donuts. But I don’t have any real vibration to speak of.

How are you getting the rear end rebuilt? There are literally no rebuild kits a single for 6th Gen SS cars. Did you mean replaced? If replaced, was it replaced with a new diff or used diff? If a used diff that could be your issue.

Not quite the same use case, but I have 1 piece CF driveshaft and notice a very tiny amount of vibration, but only under light throttle around 30 to 45 mph. Nothing under heavy throttle nor coast at those speeds. I think mine has more to do with removal of the rubber dampers/ujoints than balance or play.

Does application of throttle make a difference or same for a given speed regardless of throttle?

There is a reason why GM uses a 2-piece driveshaft with rubber isolators and that is to reduce NVH.

If possible, try indexing drive shaft to see if there is a position where the vibration is felt the least.

Yeah I may see if I can return this and switch back because I did not expect it to be like this

I know some SS guys have switched to a ZL1 driveshaft as it's a bit stronger than the SS and still 2 piece. However, the only ones I know that did this were M6 cars. You might have to do some research to see if the 10l90 shaft will fit the 10l80.
