Stripes are never the answer. But since it's a convertible, it really doesn't matter. 100% deal breaker is a convertible. Stripes are just gasoline to the fire.

However, it's your car. I would peruse the interwebs to see what examples there are out there. You may find some non-traditional stripes that suit your fancy. However, I agree with the assessment that if you're going to do that, you need to balance the color offset by getting your wheels powder coated, too.

The car is not ugly, so it does not need makeup

I just order bright hot rod red to match the seats. Didn't like the flat black a pain to clean all the time.

I would say do nothing to the car since you are leasing it. You are putting extra money into a car you won’t own when the lease is over.

I like the subtlety of the mat stripe on mine…. It goes with the cloth top.
But I also love the bold look of loud rally stripes.
My fav combo is blue with white rally stripes.
That said, I also think owner age is in play.
Loud, “look at me” configurations are a young man’s game.

It's your car make it the way you want it. Same with color, stripe, auto or manual, too many people think you should like what they like otherwise we would all drive the same car.

Like all cosmetic choices - it's personal preference. Many do not like rally stripes. I do and the sliver stripes against the hyper blue on my car make it stand out in the crowd. I get so many compliments about this color combo.

OP - I had a local shop put my stripes on for 500.00. For you - if you like them then do it even if its leased. They can come right back off if needed.

Do a redline job on it! Red grille inserts, the works!

Love those black gloss wheels with red wheel barrel stripes!

As already mentioned, personal choice & the lease is another issue & whether you might keep it. Wife's 1994 Camaro & 2002 TransAm were solid black, & white stripes on her 2013 Camaro SS hood & trunk.

Last year I built a 2022 SS with red small stripes & by the time we placed an order the idea had grown & she went with it.

Years ago, I was mostly against stripes, although some cars had thin pin accent stripes. As I aged, the stripes sometimes break up the solid color.

Post 21, 22, 23, 26 is enough to make you change your mind if you do not like stripes. They look good.

They are just not for me. The only car I ever like stripes on was the Viper.

don't ask and don't tell. I have leased previously thru various leasing companies and changed wheel colors with no hiccups. You will potentially get a pre inspection before turn in and if it happens to get called out, you will have an opportunity to correct this. You might also trade wheels with someone for stock color right before the turn in too
