2024 Camaro rumors
I have heard from two dealers that their is truth to the rumor they will drop a new Camaro on the vet. As it’s almost a 2 seater anyway and that will be gen 7 till they go electric. A cheap way to keep the name going.
Has anyone else heard that rumor ? |

Nah, GM is run by bean counters. The only thing that is happening to the Camaro is a sad goodbye. The Corvette division will probably run on their own and the Camaro will be replaced by some sort performance oriented EV sedan around the same time Dodge starts revealing their eMusclecars in 2024.
Enjoy it while you can because it will be gone before you know it.

I also think the Camaro is done as an ICE car - but can you clarify what the statement above means? I don’t understand what the rumor is supposed to be.

However, there was a study done many years ago for making a 2+2 off of the C5/C6 hydro form rails. Looking for an F car replacement.

How do you feel the value of used Camaro’s will be impacted when they go bye bye? I personally think with the advent of EV’s, used ICE cars will increase in value. Not everybody is willing to make the switch. Me being one of them.

Oh, yeah, definitely agree - no way in hell would they dilute the status of their halo car and steal its sales, just to keep the Camaro badge alive.

I think a 2024 EV Camaro is more of a possibility than anyone thinks. That will be the gen 7, I mean for christs sake they have already teased a EV platform sedan that resembles a camaro. It'll most likely be a 4 door EV Camaro just like ford is doing with the EV Mustang.

I would agree with this. Just like Ford did with the Mustang GM is going to do with the Camaro. Except GM will not keep the Camaro pony car alive like Ford did with the Mustang.

Depends on how much gas gets hiked up. If it hits $8-9/gal in an effort to push people to EVs there's not gonna be too many people wanting them other than weekend cars. When gas spiked for awhile back in 2012--2014 trucks seemingly took a hit in value due to gas prices.

How many rumors or speculations need to be brought up? Honestly, who freaking cares? Nobody knows anything at this point and it's stupid that people keep beating a dead horse with this topic. Wait for the car to come out, if it's not killed off by 2024

That being said, I stopped at a Chevy dealer to check out a 2017 Chevy SS (still miss mine, not a huge regret, but still a regret to sell it 4 years ago). Mint condition, 13,000 miles (super low). Asking $50,500. Above original sticker as I recall when I almost replaced my 2014 with a 2017. But that is a far more rare car than the Camaro. As for EVs? If you aren't on an enthusiast website talking cars you don't care what's under the hood. Plain and simple, most people won't give a poop and every year the range gets better, the recharging faster. So by 2030 when GM is 100% converted, it will likely be the better choice over an SUV, other than the NVH issue.

I own a Tesla Model 3 and a ZL1 for this reason. The Model 3 is great for daily driving duty, low operating cost, great tech, one pedal driving, autosteer on highways, etc. but it can't deliver that visceral engaging experience you get from a performance ICE based vehicle. It is the exhaust and engine noise, vibration, tire spin, rise and fall of the RPM through the shifts, interior gauge cluster, performance seats, etc. that helps add to the experience. I am hopeful that GM and others will find a way to deliver great driving dynamics in their upcoming EVs but as a Tesla owner I am skeptical. I think new EVs owners will initially be pleased with the low operating costs and instant torque of a BEV but once the honeymoon is over true enthusiasts will miss the drama and personality that a muscle car can offer. Interesting times ahead.
