Whistling or woosh noise when letting off gas
New to turbos, when I get on it nail the gas and then let up on gas there is a woosh sound from engine compartment like its blowing off air. Is this normal for turbos. I only have 700 miles on it, its a 6 speed manual. I didnt notice it before but wasnt really getting on it. Power and every thing seems fine runs great no codes coming up.
Thanks in advance. |

Perfectly normal. Its just the recirculation valve venting excess boost. You'll hear a little turbo flutter, chittering noise at times too. Run a cold air intake and it gets really loud!

Cool very nice thank you. Coming from a old school v8 hemi there are a few different noises I am no accustom too with this turbo but there is some thing to be said for being able to rev out every gear and not have the rear swing out from under you, its a lot of fun to drive and it does have a lot of pull just a different feel.

Welcome to one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. Turbo spool and the blowoff valve. Mmmmmm.
Welcome to the club. Any mods yet? |
