self-dimming mirror

So I decided to try swapping in self-dimming mirror into 1SS. Installed it and it doesn't power up. Connector wiring pinout is different between the two mirrors. Has anyone tried rewiring the connector to provide power to electrochromic?

I only want to swap rearview mirror to help with headlight glare. side mirrors don't bother me

I wouldn't mind doing that to my 1SS as well but what about the cost and does the car need to be reprogrammed for that?

Is it even possible to have auto dimming on the passenger side mirror? I thought this simply wasn't implemented.

(Despite what the window sticker said, I was silly enough to follow the hint on a GM parts site and order a "Right, Mirror, With auto dimming" part, which, upon inspection, it obviously isn't, but hey, at least I have a spare in case it breaks...)

I work for the company that manufactures these mirrors. We do not make the passenger side in that shape that is self dimming. If we did I would have one. lol.

My side windows came tinted so I guess I have auto side dimming mirrors once my widows go up....lol, I would rather just have the inside mirror that auto dimmed.

so looking at the pin out your car has 5 wires missing to upgrade to the dim mirror, if your not going to run the outside mirror then your only 3 wires off, you will need to add battery positive to pin #8 next add Backup lamp control to pin # 1( this is so when your in R the auto dime goes off, and last you will need to add Low Speed GMlan to pin #6 if you dont do that no onstar in the mirror.

my 18 has auto dimming side mirrors, light sensor is built into rear view mirror, cover the hole and mirrors get really dark, as far as I can tell, sensitivity is not user adjustable.

Tint your back windshield. Life saver. I have mine tinted 5%. It is legal in my state to have any percentage on the back window.

That will cost you about 30 bucks tops.

i know on my last car without auto tinting, it was pain in the eye with rear view and side mirrors. Glad this car has it. And that car had much larger rear glass and side mirrors, which I sort of miss, side mirrors on camaro are jokingly small considering scale of the car.
