Muffler choice
Hey guys first post here. Just had tsp 1 7/8 long tubes installed on my car. I have a 2018 1ss non npp and it sounds like crap with the long tubes, no cat or resonators routed through the non npp muffler. With that said I'm going to have an exhaust shop make a full 3" exhaust from the headers back with a xpipe. I cant decide on what mufflers to use, or maybe just straights? I'm not worried about it being to loud. Was thinking maybe slp loudmouth 2 mufflers? Let me know your opinions.
Thanks! |

https://www.borla.com/products/xr1_m...t__400371.html
Or this one https://www.borla.com/products/xr1_m...t__400372.html You can find them cheaper than on the Borla site, make sure you get the multi core not the sportsman type.

Correct, but you have to be very careful with aftermarket muffler choices due to drone , especially with LT’s and no cats. If there is room you could have the shop weld some bulllet mufflers under the car for a cheaper option. The two mufflers I posted will be close to drone free and sound really good. Search YouTube for CTS-V xr1 multicore, they are very popular in that crowd. I have them, just haven’t had time to install them.

I'm a flowmaster fan. Check out the super 10 series. People on here seem to like the sound of those. I have the Flowmaster outlaw muffler version, but it only comes with an exhaust kit.

Bullets in the x-pipe and rear mufflers work pretty good.

It will be too loud with flowmaster 10's. You need a Delta series Flowmaster to give it a more deep sound without the rasp. Bullets will do the same. Save your hearing too.

Will work as in what? For sound, or are you talking drivability? For sound, I decided to go with (2) SLP loudmouth II mufflers. The car will be going to the muffler shop shortly for all new 3" from headers back, with an H-Pipe and the SLPs. We will see what it sounds like. As far as drivability without cats, I have had no issues so far, drives just like stock for me, even in the low low rpms |

It is a drivability issue.

I have no cats now, just a shitty sounding muffler. I don't have any drivability issues that your talking about, or maybe I'm misunderstanding you? I was just asking for recommendations on a replacement muffler so I can get rid of the factory BBQ pit style I have now, and make the car sound better.

Should of kept the primary cats or even Kooks green cats work well with the LT4 engines.
As far as mufflers, Borla is all I've ever used & has always sounded great. On my personal car I'm keeping the BBQ pit muffler with DOD/AFM & NPP, but will be installing Kooks 1-7/8" Headers with high flow cats. |
