Transmission filter
Is the transmission filter accessible by just dropping the pan? Auto car

Yes. Same as other GM trannys. The pan gasket is also reusable if not damaged.
Be aware- it is a total PITA to try and refill the trans fluid through the fill hole on the side in the Camaro. If you could find the filler tool that they use at the dealer, then it would be simple. Drop pan, clean, change filter, replace, remove fluid level check plug and attach filler tool. you'll need some sort of fluid transfer pump if you use this method. I cant really get my hands up into the side of the tranny to get to the fill plug. if you have small hands/arms, you may be able to more easily refill the trans. |

If I ever feel the need to do it again, I will buy one. The side fill hole may be easy to get to in the trucks, but it was very annoying to try to do In my SS.
