Track use, autocross, and daily driver duties? Your Camaro sees the full gamut of operating
conditions, and it's been handing the usage like a champ. You could've convinced us these miles were all
done by your grandma going to the bingo hall with results this good. Copper continues to read lower with
each oil change, and it's now well below average at 6 ppm. Iron's mild increase isn't a surprise either since
this was a longer oil run than the last. Iron naturally increases with miles on the oil. The viscosity is in spec
too, making for a perfect report. Nice!

Guess I am staying with the $100 oil changes.
Lol you might wanna delete your home address on public forum.

Great UOA!

I have pretty much stuck with a twice a year oil change interval due to the low miles put on the car.

Feel free to stop by or give me a call.
Just curious are you using the ACdelco oil filter?

Oil re-post. Oil Nanny said 2% so with BS flag in hand, had TBN done. So for those of you tracking nanny...interesting to know they can see the 100 I toss in from time to time, gallon here and there.

The Insolubles got marked with "Trace" possibly from the lead but they didn't explain it so it might be a good thing to ask about it.

Not concerned. Trace is less than .1. Filtration looks good.

First oil change at 2150 miles - Valvoline Advanced MST Full Synthetic 5W-40 Dexos2 prior to track events.

Second oil change at 4300 miles.

Overall I'm pleased with the report. But I don't like that the iron content is 32 compared to 20 average on other LT1 engines. On the plus side like they said, it's down from 46 on the first change.

A possible reason for the higher than average iron content is hard use? Not sure about that. I babied the engine during the break-in, following the owner's manual recommendation 100%. I have a total of two HPDE track days and less than 3 hours on track - a lot of WOT of course, but never going over 6000 rpm. Other than the track days it's been mostly boring urban driving on 25-35 mph limit roads. I'm not saying I never floor the thing, but I'm definitely not abusing it or even driving it hard IMO.

Everything else looks good though and the Camaro has not given me a hint of trouble in the 18 months I've owned it. Especially love the power and sound of the LT1!

1 HPDE = Hard use. Imagine if everyone drove on the regular roads like we do at an HPDE. When you compare it to daily driving habits, it’s very much considered hard use. The report looks good. Keep an eye on that level and it should go down over time or at least average out.
