Surprised if you needed that/those you didn't just get the HMI upgrade from Gen 5 so it has all that feature wise (and all the other unlocks).

True, this is one of those projects that kinda kept getting more complex as it went on, I initially only wanted the nav to work but went off the deep end. lol I must say it was about 65% cheaper going the way I did.

As far as the front end camera, it would be nice but the curb alert might be much easier, hands free and less expensive too. Doing the homework now...

Guys so you know, we improved the video swicher, went with a hand built one not a cheap after market one, no more ghosting.

does the gen5diy hmi upgrade unit come with android auto?

I got mine ...paid basically a 1000 for it and it looks like it doesn't have android auto (no setting for it like my original hmi does) I'm a bit confused
