HUD "Content" Question
I saw something in the HUD yesterday that I can't seem to find an explanation to. I will do my best to describe it as I don't have an image for it, either.
I took a nice, long drive yesterday with the top down and drove everything from 25MPH back roads to 65MPH highway. I was out for a cruise, so it was reasonably casual driving all day. At one point, I noticed that the display of the HUD was "framed" by blue lines, but not in a continuous square. Think of what it would look like if you drew a square on a piece of paper and then cut through the square both vertically and horizontally at the mid-point of the lines. Then, "expand" the square out by moving all four pieces of paper diagonally away from the center about 1" or so. The resulting "broken square" of lines is what framed my HUD for a couple of seconds and then faded out. I have absolutely no idea what this was trying to tell me and I can't find anything in the manual. I had a USB drive plugged in to listen to MP3's all day and it was set to shuffle. There are thousands of songs on the drive. The car was in either Touring or Track mode, depending on the twistiness of the road. I -believe- I had it in Track mode at the time this happened but I can't say that for 100% certain. Does anyone have any way to determine what that indicator was trying to tell me? |

If I can visualize this correctly it would have looked something like [ HUD ]
if so, these boxes appear when you move the HUD Information up or down in the display area. I'm not sure why they would pop up without touching the button, so either you knocked the button a little or it's something you should monitor for software gremlins |

Yeah they should only appear when you toggle the up and down adjustment on the dash to the left of the steering wheel near the tachometer. If they keep appearing out of nowhere you might want to have the dealer look at it.

Update... It happened again, and my hand was nowhere near the switches on the dash.
I had a trim piece fall out from behind the grille, so I might make an appointment with the dealer to get it looked at and have them re-install that trim piece at the same time. |
