Dumb question here, though be aware that I did a search through the owner's manual and nothing turned up: what is this product for, exactly? I bought my car used and don't believe I have one, so is it something that I definitely *should* possess?

Here is a thread that explains the key extender. Yes, you probably want one. Hopefully you never need to use it.
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=488052 You should also have received a capless fuel funnel with the car. Our capless gas tanks have an inner door in addition to the cap door. A normal gas pump handle opens both doors when you pump gas. If you need to add fuel from a gas can or fuel additives from a bottle then you may need the funnel to open both doors. Here is the GM funnel but there are a wide variety of options available. Some aftermarket funnels have a better shape to make it easier to use without spilling when you pour. |

I forget which page in the manual. The Capless Fuel Funnel is $12.95 on Amazon with free shipping.

Gents,
Thank you for the input on both of these items. I suspect I should check the tray underneath the trunk floor and see if either of these *are*, in fact, in there; the car was well-treated by a single owner before I purchased it, and it would be not be a surprise if they were placed into one of the compartments, and I just never noticed. Interesting, though, how the owner's manual changed from one year to the next; I will try to include a shot of the page which starts with the "emergency trunk release" section, but as we can see, there is nothing at all which follows that has to do with anything about the key extender:
