About as good as a SW M&P I believe but I'm going off of what i read in reviews so don't quote me. Personaly, I'm looking to get the Colt expanse AR. It's a entry level colt AR but help me out guys. Is it worth it over Bushmaster (which is the AR I'm trying to get from the mrs cousin) M&P and Panther?

You can't go wrong with the Colt LE6920. More money but more gun.

Can't speak on the Expanse and others, my stuff is ... hybrid, or Frankenstein, your choice

Not a AR fan (fantastic firearm, but they don't turn me on) but if I were to get one, I'd get the FNH.

Yep, NY. Non-free state. Paid $880 for an M&P Sport 2. Part of that is because the shop has to provide and install a magazine lock, so I'm sure there is a surcharge for that. I can't even buy ammo online unless I arrange to have a local shop provide an FFL and address to the site for them to ship it to.

Ditto here but you can't find a nice rifle for less than $1000 anymore. Plus, there is a gazillion accessories for it and parts are plentiful. I always wanted one back in the day but couldn't afford them.

My first.experience with an AR was not a good one, and a Colt too. My friend had a beautiful AR with a 20 inch Hbar barrel. Nice rifle that cam with a sweet rifle.case. we were out shooting and this rifle jamed quite a few times to the point where my friend put it away for the day. There i was plugging away with my cheap, pawn shop, used AK that i hadn't cleaned in 6 months.

I figure with all the gun debates going on i better get one while its good. You never know whats going to happen.

I sorta kinda got lucky and had a bonus that was a few twenties more than the pre-ban Colt Sporter Target with a 5.56 upper that was at a LGS. I got it since it would never be cheaper than it was at that moment.

I like it just fine and I appreciate it as a machine, but I shoot old bolt actions much more often. I doubt I have put a round through that Colt in two years. Some guys go bananas over their ARs but me, not so much.

I just don't want to be the only one at the gun range without an AR haha! I just want to get my hands on one before it hits the fan with all these evil guns around here.

That's true. According to our libtard Governor and his cronies in the state assembly, the only reason anyone could possibly have to own a firearm is to go into a school zone and gun down a bunch of little kids.
