New car oil change

Are you suppose to get the oil changed at 500 miles?

You don't have to do it at 500 miles but it is recommended in the track preparation guide. Not a requirement. I only changed my oil at 1500 along with the diff fluid before tracking my car.

If you're not tracking it, 7500 miles. I did mine ~5000 miles.

Did my oil & Diff at 500 miles and again at 1,500 miles, I don't track my car but the way I look at it, fluids are very cheap, engine components are not... (I do my own maintenance so it only costs me for the fluids and filter)

Oil at 500, oil and diff fluid at 1500 miles, car was (and is) running strong and drinks no oil.... with that said, be prepared for the possibility of this turning into... YET ANOTHER OIL THREAD !!!4!!

I did mine at 500 miles. It was very cloudy from tiny metal particles. Second oil change at 1500 miles the oil looked just fine. So I’d say 500 miles was a good time.
