I put it into ESC Competitive mode on the way home. It pulled like a different animal. Very impressed

Holding the button down for 10 seconds turns EVERYTHING off, including stabilitrak.

It's those jackasses that crash into walls because they failed basic physics. You don't keep on the gas pedal when you fish tail you let off.

Stabilitrak keeps your car going straight.

Okay that makes sense, I've been looking for the difference. Basically competitive mode allows you some freedom but still has a safety net.

Just so people know: Performance Shift Mode I don't think works much below 40mph, because any speed below that and you are already in 1st gear on the A10's.

Not sure about the A8's though. A8's may be in 1st up to 50mph not sure. I'll let someone with an A8 chime in about that.

Also fun fact: In Track mode with ESC Comp Mode On, Cruise control no longer works which is intended. Soon as you turn TC back on, it will work in Track mode.

And if you are in Touring mode, you cannot turn off all nannies and only Traction Control is turned off but nothing else, and I believe you cannot enable ESC Comp mode either. You have to be in Sport or Track modes for that.

There is a minimum activation speed on the A8 as well, but I don't remember what it is. When the driver is feathering the throttle, the trans upshifts very eagerly at 2k rpm or below, so it doesn't stay in 1st or even 2nd for long.

I'll play with it and report back.
