I found it to be a little brutal. Didn't like that at all.

That's unfortunate, perhaps the 2019+ tune is different and more aggressive... IMO performance shift mode is one of the saving graces of the automatic, a true source of enjoyment.

It was definitely super peppy once in mode, but that initial jolt was intense.

Sticky tires and competition mode is most practical setting for rolling pulls

I saw a 6th gen crash into a wall on highway last week trying to show off "cutting up"
Dumbass probably turned off everything

Happened 15 feet in front of me i had to swerve to avoid him

I hear everyone say what a beast these cars are. I think I'll stay away from that competitive mode for now. I love the car too much.

ESC Competitive mode: Does NOT turn off stabilitrak, but turns off everything else

Holding the button down for 10 seconds turns EVERYTHING off, including stabilitrak.

It's those jackasses that crash into walls because they failed basic physics. You don't keep on the gas pedal when you fish tail you let off.

Stabilitrak keeps your car going straight.

I use ESC Comp mode at the strip every time I go. I used to run with all nannies turned off but I found my best runs are with ESC Comp On and Stabilitrak enabled.

Performance Shift Mode is not the same and not to be confused with ESC Comp Mode.

Performance shift is used best during roll races, as it allows the car to down shift automatically to the lowest gear possible relative to speed. It then holds that gear for 7 seconds, and you have to put the car in Manual Mode if you want to hold that gear longer than 7 seconds. Then put the shifter back into drive the moment you hit the gas to take off. Not doing so results in a lost roll race most of the time.

Also the conditions where Performance Shift Mode engages automatically are as follows:

1. Hard acceleration pull
2. Hard Braking (near panic braking conditions)
3. Hard cornering (Track Course)

To manually engage Performance Shift Mode:

1. Slam the gas pedal to the floor as quickly as possible and let off immediately

Also you have to be in Auto mode not manual, correct?

To engage Performance shift, have to be in drive so yes auto. Once engaged then you can switch to manual to hold the gear it goes in and/or use paddle shifters if you must.
