275's on front now hard to steer at idle

I now have 275's on the front and at idle speeds or while at very slow speeds such as in parking lots or driveways it is hard to steer. Feels like the power steering is having a hard time until the engine RPM is raised. I do not recall having this problem with the 245's. Any ideas? Is there a smaller pulley for the pump so it will run faster at idle?

2010 SS/RS

Any help would be appreciated.

More resistance and more weight. I noticed the same when I 1st put 275's on mine. You will get used to it....

Doesn't the ZL1 have a different suspension that would affect its handling with the larger tires? Or am I incorrect in thinking that?

ZL1 and 2013 and after Camaro's have electric power steering making it easier to turn the wheel.

You might want to get an alignment, particularly if you changed to wheels with a different offset.

What tire pressure? Add a coupe psi. Realign yet? Is it tuned? If it is tuned, could always raise the idle a hair in the tune.

Do all 3 and I bet you notice a big improvement.

Dang I wanted to put 285's in the front on my 2011. Will I notice a big difference in resistance and turning radius?

You're comparing apple to oranges . The ZL1 & Z28 steering is calibrated/designed to handle the wider tires . The SS and and V6 versions not so much .

I replaced the stock front set up with 275s and 9" wide wheels, then aligned it on my 2012 and didn't notice any difference at all in the steering resistance at idle and/or slow speeds.

.

The 1LE option on the SS comes with 285's also.

If so, I think it will be whining.
