I own a 2023 Camaro 2ss. Left hood open at show for couple hours and car had trouble starting. It started but it definitely had issue cranking over for a few seconds. So battery was draining. Shut the hood and no issue later on. Anyone have an answer?

The companies clearly store them in the extended state, because that's the only way we ever receive them to replace worn ones. if the compressed state extended shelf life, I would think the companies would store them that way. |

I don't think leaving the hood open for a couple of hours cause that. At least with my car I have been to several car shows and had the hood open for 5-6 hours at a time with no issues.

I left my hood open about 3 weeks and my battery is down to about 12.1 VDC from 12.5 VDC. I dont think leaving the hood open is an issue.
