I agree with this statement. I have 2k miles now. I changed my oil at 500 miles. I will do my second oil change shortly to full synthetic amsoil. I changed the diff oil at 1500 miles. I am still driving it somewhat conservatively but I have opened it up and even in break in I went over 80 mph. Although I waited until about 750-1000 miles to see a redline run. Waited until after 1500 to see 150mph. I believe you should take the middle stance. During break in always wait until oil and transmission temperature comes up to operating temperature before you get into it. You can play with it and run it through the rpns. As you get more mileage run up higher by 1k rpm at time. If you do good maintenance and watch oil temperature and not go 100% too soon then you will be fine. Awesome thing about the SS is the heated transmission and rear differential! Although the manual takes some time to get up to temperature and when it does the rear end is up to that temperature as well. Really helps to change the rear gear fluid.

I have hope to see further improvement in the shifter feel. It's definitely better than when I first got the car.
I've noticed my sweet spot on my clutch has changed since I got it. It used to be close to the floor, now it's closer to the top. 800 miles now.

Your transmission is different with a different pressure plate and clutch though.

Check your oil life. it's around 30% just do it. You can still flush it at 1500, it won't hurt a thing if you really wanted to.

I am about to hit 1500, 20 more miles except today it's freezing so not driving the camaro. I will replace my filter and keep going till I am about 30% oil life then change the oil with Mobil 1 5w-30 full syn.

In My opinion the components that requires a careful breakin is the A-8 Transmission and the rear Diff. and the Brakes. Some may not agree and that's OK!!! Everyone will do as they want to, and Hopefully Enjoy EVERY MILE!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree. I've got 1250 miles on my car and for the most part am following the break-in procedures to the letter. However, my first oil change will be as per normal. I understand that there is no break-in oil used from the factory so I'll have my oil changed when needed. I don't buy into changing oil every 3000 miles. It's just not necessary. I will go with Mobil 1 when I do. To each its own.
