Keep in mind, people like you and me on forums are enthusiasts, we are the smaller market so while the forum may be going nuts right now, most people won't care at all. The bigger thing is, hopefully Chevrolet want to actually sell this thing so they won't limit production to 500 like the GT350R. If they make a few thousand to satisfy demand, ADM should be kept in check.
In Texas they will sit on dealer lots for nearly the whole model year like the previous Z28. Hell, the cheaper ZL1 models are sitting right now. You won't find a mark up here in the DFW. Maybe a few of the first may bring just above MSRP but it will die down soon. Not really sure why people buy ZL1s in California and other inflated parts of the country when all these ZL1s are sitting unclaimed and heavily marked down. I imagine this new 1LE will be no different. It's very hard to sell a $70,000.00 Chevy that isn't a SUV.

$6-8k option.

Not limited

Remember this is like checking ecf hood vs painted. It's an option. It is not a stand alone model. They have not previously made the 1LE option limited before and they won't start now. The market will keep it limited on its own. Few will know what it is. Even fewer will seek it.

Good point, it's just an option. I don't have the historical reference some of you guys do but I wonder if they (car MFGs) had ever limited options in the past. I suspect not. That bodes well for it not being ADM...just walk in, tick the box and wait...

That is very true, "option", so the option might be a limited run like some of the paint colors

It's obvious they learned and fixed that with this one.

Everything done here counters what happened with the Z/28.

1) Limited Production
2) Creature comforts -(lots of them)
3) Super expensive CC brakes = no
4) 19" wheels w/ widest possible tires
5) LT4 - most powerful engine in the lineup
6) Adjustable dampers

This thing SCREAMS don't repeat Z/28 issues and gives the consumer what they've been asking for and/or modding to.

The Z/28 did have dry sump though.
2. is the big one, people are so spoiled now that they want their 65k+ car to have all the bells and whistles. Having this I think they will sell all of them with no problem.

AS far as cost of the 1LE option (which I still think is a stupid name for this car ZL1 1LE) I will say that this package will add 8500 to the price of a ZL1.

It includes PDR and exposed carbon hood...I think you're right on.

According to the slick sheet from GM, the PDR appears to be optional.

Assuming the PDR is not a default part of the 1LE package, my guess is $4,000.

Camaro sales numbers aren't great at the moment, so I'm leaning toward the low side of the spectrum.

IMO this will be a car that at most GM will make 250-300 units per year, and will hold price at MSRP in the $75k mark, a Zl1 with an A10 and PDR with nav and carbon hood insert is $68k so lets drop the A10 (saves 2K) now we are down to 66K add IMO 3K for the upgraded DSSV then add 3K for the rimes and tires now we are at 72K that wing is at lest $1500 extra, front Splitter and rest of front end at $ 1000, are we there yet, so how this goes up fast, and there are a lot more parts that we dont have here.

I think ZL1 1LE doesn't sound right to us because the SS 1LE folks pretty much dropped the SS and exclusively used 1LE like it was a different model. Both ZL1 and 1LE are RPO codes and now we have to use the SS and ZL1 to differentiate the two cars.

That is true, never thought of the options that way

They do need to think of something with a little better name, but it isn't like they could say a ZL1 with a track package. Sounds like a ford thing.

Maybe ZL1LE, or ZL1R, or IROC, lol little shout out to those who keep calling for it I dont know, something

I am glad they built it though. I love it

Just call it a ZL1. It will be quite obvious if it has a 1LE package...you cannot hide it.
No need to make up a new name..

..and please, No separate Forum for it either...

That appears to be what Chevy did. The only emblems on the car are ZL1. Like mlee said, 1LE is just the name of the option code, just like Z51 is on Vettes. It is funny how they put 1LE emblems on the 5th gen Camaros but not the 6th gen.
