Took my car to the local Firestone yesterday. They have the track-spec alignment already loaded up into their computer, just had to ask for it. Took very little time, they provided the printout, and I can go back whenever I want as long as I own the vehicle.

So... why y'all going to the dealer?

Probably because Firestone stores are very hit or miss.

With the dealer , you can always fall back to GM corporate if they F something up and file a warranty claim or lemon law claim.

Yeah.

Or a Loctite-sealed bolt installed on your strut. Choices, choices.

(GM also won't help you when a Franchisee carries out non-warranty service or repairs)

If you saw all the burn out marks in the street by our local Firestone you might reconsider.

They'd probably match up well with the marks at the Chevrolet dealer.

Which would likely match up well with my own.

lol
The burn out marks at Chevy are in the back lot. They know better than to leave evidence out front.

SO....

I have a 2017 SS 1LE. I wanted a track alignment. The dealer seemed to have ZERO clue about what that was. Got a call from them saying they found the info and order the required "kit".

Kit came in and they performed the track alignment. I had my dad take the car to them as I was at work. 7 hours later... the alignment was finished (he waited the entire 7 hours in the dealership). Until I got a call from the dealer saying they had mistakenly done a standard alignment and would need the car back to perform the track alignment. Ok cool, mistakes happen, whatever.

Dropped the car off this morning for the second attempt. They also replaced my steering wheel due to a peeling issue on the Fifty badge. Got a call around 4:30 that the car was ready and I could drop off the loaner. I got there and picked up the car, everything looked good.

On the drive home I took an onramp and it felt pretty good. As I turned onto the main road leading to my house, I felt a slight pull to the left. The pull got worse.

Got home and hopped out to find the top of the left front tire sitting proud of the fender by about an inch. Uhhhh...

Then, to my horror, this is what I found...

So I jacked it up and removed the wheel...

I don't even have words. The adjustment bolt is Loctited in, the cam bolt is still there, everything was hand tight. They did, however, give me the stock upper bolts back...

Get some toe plates and camber gauges, do it yourself. Stupid easy on these cars considering the toe adjustments can be made with the car on the ground without having to jack it up.

Same here, they said they could only do what they had in their computer for a 17 Camaro SS.... aka the best they could do is the regular street alignment for a regular SS. Firestone like the other chain stores are very hit and miss.

Firestone has the track alignment in the computer. I know this because they pulled it from thier national database to use on my vehicle.

If that's the case then the Techs at the Firestone by my house are just incompetent.... which is also very possible.
