clunk issues

so got my new yyz springs installed a few weeks ago and everything was good on way home had a clunk. Took it to get aligned and have shop look at everything and make sure all tight which it was. Took to dealer for oil change over weekend and they couldn't figure it out. Took to local tire shop this morning and they called me and said the passsenger side strut is sheared off but the nut it still attached. Who knows how this happened but they said maybe the place that installed the new springs compressed it incorrectly and broke it? hmm weird

what do you guys think?

Very odd. So the actual piston was broken off?

Glad to hear that you got the strut problem resolved. You might want to check the installation and torque on the other strut (if you haven't already done that). If they installed one wrong then they probably installed both wrong. You might save yourself the cost of another strut.
