Thoughts of the different steering settings

I tend to like touring. I just put the suspension in sport and run touring steering most of the time. Does anyone else feel like the sport and track steering is artificially too weighted?

Yeah, I feel the same way about this car as I did my M3. Any setting higher than the low one just makes it unnecessarily heavy and less precise.

Agreed. Steering locked in tour, exhaust locked in track.. 100% of the time. In the SS 1LE I leave the suspension tied to the “mode selector”.

I keep it in track all of the time. I am super human mutant strong and need the extra weight to help stop me from twisting the chassis when I accidentally hit the steering lock in parking lots.

It's a fact.

I keep suspension in tour, exhaust in track, and steering is linked to mode, which is almost always in Sport. For everyday driving, I feel like track is too heavy and tour is too light. Sport is just right.

Sport for me. Same as above, tour is too light. Track is too heavy. Sport is just right.

It'd be nice to have this programmable. My personal preference would be even more separation, lighter tour and a bit stiffer track mode, sport is roughly okay.

Does anyone know if steering assist levels can be changed in a tune?

How do you pick different setting for steering, suspension and exhaust. I thought if I hit mode selector that it puts everything into sport, tour, etc.

I have the same question. Is it something available only on certain trim levels? I looked in my owner's manual and don't see a reference to the ability to individually adjust the settings...then again I am notorious for missing the obvious.

It’s in the settings menu under drive mode. You can lock any of the 3 settings where you want, or let them be tied to the drive modes.

I can't use Tour mode (too loose)

Sport or Tour mode (backroads) with the exhaust always in Track

Not sure the LT trims have this, but expanding on BMWM.D.'s answer, these are the relevant controls menus and the available choices when not linking the respective setting to the active drive mode:
