Is a Camaro, with more than 640hp, coming in the future, good news today, maybe.

Interesting articles today, about a more powerful
V8...

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2015/10/...e-near-future/

http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...e-than-640-hp/

More power Scotty....

An interesting comment , given in that threads, comment section:
Well here are the facts.
#1 the old car never was given all the power the engine had. That engine passed warranty and emissions testing at GM up to 725 HP. The new engine has a much higher threshold and can easily surpass this. It would be foolish to not expect Cadillac and the Corvette not to pass up the Hellcat at least in limited numbers at some point. That was not hearsay it is what I was told a few years back by a GM driveline engineer.
#2 The car that gets the extra power will be tuned to use all it is given. For example the Corvette people have tested up to 1,000 HP reportedly and as of now are having trouble putting it to the ground. GM will give a car only the power it can handle. The Hellcat has more power than it can use and the management system holds it back. The car is fast but should be faster and is computer restricted for traction etc.

The LT4 is already spinning that little blower very fast..can't spin in much faster.

Unless it's a LT4 with a larger blower..

LT4 ftw. It's definitely going to make me grab a procharger to keep me tamed for a while on my 2ss instead of upgrading to the ZL1 asap lol.

Caddy is expecting a TTV8 for the CT6 I thought. They may abandon the LT4 and go that route since its a caddy engine.

If the ZL1 got a twin turbo v8, I think I'd lose my mind with joy and want.

It may be the Caddy TTV8. Probably DOHC as well.

TTV8 is supposed to be Caddy specific. They are trying to get back to the days of Caddy only motors and break the "it's an overpriced Chevy" stigma that some people attach to the shared power plant scheme used today.

That would be a huge mistake, That would be great for a Caddilac super car but not the Vette. Dont get me wrong, I would like a mid engine vette, but it must have a smallblock V8. Save the DOHC V8 for the caddy, they want specific engines anyways.

I keep thinking they will slap a 2.3 on the Lt4 in the 17' Z06 to cure the overheating issues. In turn ~700 Z Camaro. A guy can dream can't he? Lol
