Transmission drain and fill plug question

Hi all, first time posting. I just recently did the rear diff and trans fluid on my 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. Everything went smooth and was fairly easy (minus pumping that stupid hand pump, lol), but I wasn't quite sure how deep the transmission plugs should go in? I tightened them flush with the trans, but when I looked at photos of other people's write-ups, it seems some threads are supposed to stick out. I can't remember how they were on my car before I removed them for the life of me. Can someone confirm if I may have harmed anything by screwing them in as far as I did? Should I just back them out some, or will I be okay as-is?

You really don't need to crank on those as it's a tapered fit, being a tapered fit it can crack the housing if over tightened. If you didn't crank the crap out of them I would leave them alone, if you did and it's not cracked I would back them off a turn or so as a few heat cycles may crack the transmission housing anyway.

I didn't crank them too much, they were still going in easy when I stopped. I backed both out a turn or so just in case. When I have more time I will get back under there and take off that trans brace again and torque properly. I believe they should be 20 ft lbs? Hard to get that drain bolt otherwise with a torque wrench.
