Anybody confirm this? Trans fluid update

So this was posted on GM authority Page. Is there a new TSB on the fluid? I hadn’t seen one. Thought the correct fluid was Mobil 1 blue version.

Quite possibly true. Before my engine let go they did the mobil one swap. When they put the new engine in they used Dex. This was about a month ago. Have to look through the TSB's to be sure. Still would rather have the mobil...

Yea I had blue version Mobil 1 replaced and haven’t had any trouble thus far. Just wanted to see what the group heard about this. For future reference I guess.

So if I'm understanding this right, the same flush procedure is still done, but they have now switched back to Dexron 3 from the most recent Mobile 1 ATF. Am I getting this right?

Are they ever going to get this right? I had the Mobil done in Oct 2018 and have about 20K miles on it and it "seems" ok, but if they will cover another flush, I guess I should do it? Also I'm getting close to the 60K warranty cutoff.

Yea that’s what I’m getting from this. Like dexron updated their fluid and that’s what’s being used now. The comment said the dealer mentioned a new TSB so that’s what I was trying to figure out but I think it’s just different fluid not necessarily a new TSB.

I also installed the new Range AFM and I must say it’s a game changer. I’m sure a lot of people are ok with the AFM and some of the other modern eco stuff on these cars but I prefer the way it feels now x1000. Night and day difference IMO. Smoother and no drone or lugging sound/feel anymore. Happy with the purchase.

I thought the latest fluid and flush procedure was the final fix (so far so good for me) but since they are now switching the fluid again it makes me wonder. I'd like to know specifically why they are doing this

One thing we know for sure is that dex iii is cheap. they are using 20qts for a flush right?

I know exactly how to fix the transmission shudder for good:

1. Remove automatic transmission
2. Install manual transmission
3. Enjoy a lifetime of shudder-free driving

Just kiddn guys, I know this has been a big continuing issue for you

Yea I think it’s just cost savings Like you said as long as the fluid is the correct formula. Just thought I would put any new info out there. I honestly haven’t had any issues since the Mobil 1 blue flush. So not really a concern but more of a heads up for the community. If anyone out there does know of this new change or can confirm that’s what we’re looking for.

It honestly just sounds like a stall tactic. They're waiting for everyone to finish with their warranty period and then bye bye free fixes.

Sorry to hear that. Did you get it sorted out? Was the afm delete to help with the shudder or did you have other issues as well?
