Is track alignment possible on FE2 suspension? (LS and LT models)
Hey, all
Does anybody have experience running a track alignment spec on the base Camaro models? (LS and LT trims, not 1LE) I am talking about the alignment specs from high performance supplement (-1.5 camber front, -1.25 camber rear): https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10113865&postcount=37/ How does the car feel, is the tire wear okay with the stock 245s? |

I believe the FE2 shocks/struts are dimensionally the same as FE3, just different valving. So anything you can do with FE3 you should be able to do with FE2.
For tire wear, I don't have the stock 245s, but run -2.5 F and -2 R (with camber plates) and haven't seen any meaningful extra wear.

Never tried. When I put the 305s on there isn't much room to the strut, so I knew I had to get camber plates. There's plenty of adjustment on the knuckle, so I would think -1.5 wouldn't be an issue.

I was able to get -1.9 camber front and -1.6 camber rear without any camber plates.
I could tell the difference in autocross for sure. Tire wear is not bad, I've put around 4k miles on stock all-season tires and there isn't any evident wear. For autocross I run Re71-r 265/40/R19 all around and I wish I could get more negative camber but that's as far as the shop could go without messing toe too much. |

I ran -1.5f & -1.3r with the stock 245s and FE2 suspension for a year without any extra wear - approx. 3,000 miles. Added the FE3 suspension the next year and did another 2,000 miles with the same alignment specs. Last year I bumped it up to -2.0f & -1.6r with 265/45r18 Pirelli PZ4s (toe is just under 0.1). 2,500 miles and counting with minimal extra wear on the inside shoulder.
The car handles great on track, canyons, and around town. Turn in was much more responsive when I switched to the Pirellis and newer alignment specs. Those happened the same day so I'm not sure which is responsible (maybe both).

Thanks for everybody's input.
The alignment fella was able to get me -1.5 front camber and -1.25 rear camber without any issues. |
