Yea if you've tracked the car for more than 15 hours then you need to change it

This could be fixed with a software update.

If it was a software issue, I think it would have been evident from the jump.. not 15000 miles later... but I’m no rocket surgeon .. lol

When I took mine to the dealership they said my TCM was up to date so I don’t think it’s software. Unless GM is aware of it and working on an update because that was maybe 1.5 months ago.

I'll go to say that GM transmissions seem to all do this. My 19 Silverado with an 8 speed will delay shifting from 1 - 2 when it's cold. As in, you can feel that it wants to shift but it takes 2 or 3 seconds before it'll shift which makes it feel like it's slipping.

I think this topic about the A10 shifting hard or slipping in certain gears, mainly 2nd, 3rd or 4th, under normal driving was talked about. Can't remember what was really said but I'll see if I can find it.

I may have drawn the lucky stick, but my 8L90 never did this, even before it was flushed and later tuned, and despite the fact that we do get some cold days when I still drive the car.

I am just assuming that since the issue disappears while down shifting with applying little gas, then a software update could solve it. no surgeon here too

The A10 trans. has a known issue with rough down-shifiting from 4th to 3rd only. it does shifts smoothly if you apply gas while downshifting (discovered that lately). I started noticing the rough downshifting after 15k, local dealer checked the car and said the trans. is working perfectly. I really dont know if its the same what your going through,, but if applying little gas fixes the issue then I am guessing that a software update could fix it.

I doubt a software update will fix a mechanically issue.

The OP feels this when they are driving normally and when the car is shifting up in gear, not down. My car does something similar but it kinda hangs up for a split second before shifting.

If it's anything like the 8 speed issue in the Silverado/Sierra, then it will either need updated fluid or it'll need to be slightly overfilled. Yes, that's the fix GM has been using. They mainly blame it on the type of fluid that was being used and it causing condensation to build up.

I did also have the same slight transmission shift delay on my C7 Vette with light throttle so I guess it is a normal thing on these GM auto transmissions.

I only notice this when the car is cold, and it goes away when the car is up to operating temp.. it feels like a clutch slipping on a manual transmission.

It doesn’t seem to be affected by how hard I’m accelerating... normally, I’m light on the throttle since everything is cold

Any ideas ?
Thanks,

I mainly drive my A10 in manual and the same type of slipping sensation happens down low. It sort of wanders thru the 1/2 and 2/3 when not at WOT

my 19 ZLE also has a shifting issue from 3-4 in my opinion. My 18 ZL1 didn't have this kind of hard shift from 3-4. Under light driving it kind of lags 3-4 at the track it shifts hard into 3-4 and it feels like the tires chirp. Everything else is smooth, dealer said everything is fine, and when I took them for test drive and showed them... They shit their pants, I guess having it recorded that they said it as fixed and I took it back next day and said no its not will help me if it fails....
