Don't think you'll regret not getting the A10 based on the short commute and not bad traffic. I love mine and have zero regrets. To me personally, I was never going after the fastest quarter mile times, but rather the most fun to drive and is still stupid fast. I'm of the opinion that you got a steal with the 2019 crate engine. As soon as i read you mentioning 2017's the first thing I was gonna say is find that oil pump failure thread. Since you won't have to worry about that issue I say that's a huge plus.

Look at my Sig!
I'm a M6 guy. I sold my 17M6 zl1 for an 18 A10. no regrets here!!!!! The A10 is that good and fun. launching a M6 zl1 car in a race plain ole sucks.

Thanks so much, guys. I am also of the opinion having the 2019 crate engine is a huge plus, felt I was getting a great deal on the M6, so I pulled the trigger. The next A10 I had my eyes on would be an extra 6k, not worth it in my opinion. I feel I will be happy with both, as someone coming from a 2001 bmw 325i as my fastest previous car. Haha. I think the m6 or A10 would be a huge step up. Happy with my choice. Appreciate it.

Henry has made some wonderful films over the years. He is a very talented Auto Journalist, and perhaps an even better driver. In this film, he speaks of the importance of manual transmissions, and how they change your driving experience.
Although he is driving a GT3, much can be directly related to the ZL1. Please watch and enjoy. I got goose bumps the first time I watched this. |

I particularly love his analogy of "instant is not always better". Other than having to really concentrate on getting off the line with the M6, it is pure joy - regardless if your banging cogs at redline, a sweet heel & toe downshift, or simply cruising.
I'm a huge proponent of tech, and lost sleep when ordering my ZLE. I really wanted the sophistication of the A10, but the M6 option was keeping me up at night. Driving this vehicle with the manual along with the torque is something to be experienced. For me, 80% of the driving I do is not on a track and not at full tilt. |

No issues with the M6 or bogging. Most manuals have their idiosyncrasies and a good driver develops a “feel” for how to properly drive it. I wouldn’t trade for an A10.

Any pics of your ZL1 Cbren? You won’t regret the M6 transmission either. I love mine and it will take you a few miles to get used to driving the car. I found out when I got my ZL1 the clutch operation was a little different than the 2016 2SS I had especially with the bog but I have gotten used to it now!

you'll love the M6 if you get it.. especially with little traffic ... everyone seems to love what they got... I will say that I have seen folks like MLee who have owned both and really driven both, and prefers the A10 over the M6. But again, it's all subjective ...
I would invite anyone on here to take a ride in the A10 convertible with the top down... that feeling, rowing through 10 gears at 150, 160, 170mph (in Mexico) is unlike anything I have ever experienced
