We need Bhilla to chime in. As far as I know he is the only one who actually has run both tires. IIRC, he went 11.2's on the 28's and then 10.9's on the 26's as the only change.

That is correct! Ran both a 28' and 26' tire back to back one weekend, same weather, same track. Best 60ft on 28in was 1.62, consistent mid to low 1.6. On the 26' tire, best 60ft 1.51 and consistent mid/low 1.5s.

11.2x was best on 28, switched to 26 and went 10.9/10.8.

I think the shorter tire is a good move on the M6. Looking forward to a 4.10.

My track experience the 26's post up quicker times and higher mph then the 28's do on lower hp cars. 28's tend to require more power from the added height

Granted it does all depend on the setup , HP, gearing ,etc, etc , etc! My s475/5.3 fox loved the 28's over the 26's. But I think my SS would like 26's over 28's.

Got to be the same car. You know that. LOL. Thanks for posting this up. Would have been worth a tenth or so in the 1/4. Kind of strange that they 60ft'd the same.

Not much of a difference at the 330 either looks like the majority of the ET was made between the 330 and 660 and with less mph to boot. Doeant the 26 mess the shift points assuming not tuned?

Mine the 28" tall tire usually 60's better than his 1.78 average. I leave at idle, he leaves at 1400. mine starts moving in the second half 12.20's in the heat. 12.09 in mineshaft air. we think the shorter tire is affecting the shift points. And of course I know it should be tested on the same car , but I thought this might be a interesting side by side for info only

Sounds to me like he could be leaving some performance on the table. Revving up on the line with my A8 has given slower times than launching from an idle has.

Edited to add: I'm talking about stock transmission tune and stock torque converter here.
