L99 Camshaft Advice

I own a 2012 Camaro SS with normal bolt ons (CAI, LTH, etc.) and wanted to know a couple things. One is what is the best camshaft for increasing power while maintaining driveability because this is a daily driver? Two is should I replace the stock valve springs or other stock parts to make sure the camshaft runs properly?

Either hit up gpi or texas speed or one of the reps for the vvt cam. As far as stock springs of course man! Replace springs.. get upgraded triunion bearings for rocker arms... push rods.. etc.

We have a full line of performance camshaft packages both VVT and VVT delete..

And we offer Remote custom tuning to bring it all together.

I daily drive the GPI VVT SS3. You need different springs (and other stuff). Best to buy it all from once source. I picked up 100rwhp from cam/heads.

I'd stay away from trunion upgrade. More failures after replacing than leaving stock

Contact Aaron at GPI. Aaron and Ryan really know their stuff. I installed the SS1 VVT camshaft a couple of years ago. Makes great power, performs great as a daily driver with the stock converter. I will add, it sounds mean, a nice lumpy idle. Ryan remote tuned mine with HP tuners. It was a very easy process. They will supply everything you need for the install. I would recommend keeping the VVT, it pulls forever. Recently wanted some more power and purchased the Magnuson Heartbeat supercharger, also purchased from GPI. These guys will not steer you wrong. Go for the cam, you'll love it.

Let us know how she performs!

Looking to get a cam soon. Not sure if I want to go full LS3 or keep it L99 VVT.

Go Trunion
https://www.briantooleyracing.com/sm...grade-kit.html

and get the best lifters money can buy for your L99
https://www.briantooleyracing.com/jo...ters-2110.html

Lifters are notorious for failing (stock ones at least) when people cam their Camaro's.

if I ever cammed my Camaro, those are the only lifters I would trust. Don't go with LS7 lifters... people have had those fail too.

IF you insist on staying Rockers, at least upgrade them

I got a package deal from BTR. BTR stage 2 vvt with all the supporting valvetrain. It was pretty rowdy so I had a Circle D 3200 stall and retune done. Drive like stock, but healthier.
