Auto trans shift knob

I really don’t enjoy the ballsack-ish look the original shift knob has... For those who have made an upgrade to their shift knobs:

- Pics
- Where did you get it from?
- How much?

And last but not least, was it a PITA to change?

Thanks!

Holy crap! They're pretty proud of that. Looks great but I could never see myself spending $240 on a shifter knob. And I'm what some people consider "rich".

Here is mine with a custom made shaft by Camaro5 member awsm66. I also got the carbon fiber knob from him as well, but any knob that fits M12x1.25 can be used. He sent me pictures of the step-by-step process of him making this starting with a billet slug turned on his lathe, facing the bottom of the knob to clock it properly, and all the polishing. Very talented guy.

I paid $110 for the shaft and knob. He included required hardware and full install instructions as well. Very cool guy to work with. I bought the manual boot as a barely used take-off on Ebay from a 2014 SS for around $30. So overall it was rather reasonable cost to totally change the look of my shifter and base. Fairly simple install, just required a tiny bit of Dremel grinding of the plastic on the OEM shifter stump underneath the factory shaft, but that was also in the instructions.

With this you simple push down on the knob the select gears, no buttons or triggers. Phastek has a selection of other knobs available that are made for the auto. The Hurst shifter (So badass!), Drake shifter, and American Brothers Designs. So there are some other choices out there made just for us.

Yeah me too. I have always thought that shifter looks so cool and beefy.

lol, well I wanted something that no body over here had in their Camaro, plus I had a pistol grip shifter on my old school cars. I also bought the REAL red wood side pieces you can replace on them, didn't want the black billet ones, the red wood kinda goes with my interior trim, RJT.. No cheap stuff on my Camaro.. lol

I'll get some pics for you guys tomorrow. And yea it is pretty "beefy" and solid, mounts really tight on the internal shifter shaft, unlike the wobbly POS Defenferworx billet one I had years ago that was, well just poorly made. Also this one you can take off the side plates and either paint them, or PC them, they are billet aluminum. And it just feels good in your hand.
