Front facing sensor above HUD (WAS: Second OEM front facing camera?)
I have PDR and I see the camera up by the rearview mirror.
Today I noticed a second camera that is right above the HUD, recessed a bit. What's that one for?

OK, upon closer inspection it appears to be a sensor of some sort, not a camera.
Kinda weird. It's not the auto headlight sensor so what else is there?

The orientation of the sensor would make sense for it to be a photocell to control the brightness of the HUD based on how much light is "behind" the HUD display. I didn't think the HUD had such a control.
Speaking of HUD, I'm happy they got the polarization of the main screen correct, but the HUD is wrong so it basically disappears when wearing polarized sunglasses. I was thoroughly unimpressed with it the first few hours of ownership thinking, wow this thing isn't barely readable it's so dim....but I was wearing polarized sunglasses the whole time. I got a huge surprise when I took them off. I digress...
