Laguna Seca 2017 V6 1LT 1:59

Laguna Seca - 1:59 - 2017 V6 1LT - 2/17/18, Stock Tires - 250+lb instructor good for 50+HP.

Heres a Vid, checkered start at 4 secs and back at 2:03 just check those times. I know its not perfect but I wanted to show for Contrast of the ZL1's that have times posted.

It isn't huge improvement but I ran 0.63 seconds faster than before.
I believe my car, with me as a driver, can do mid 1:40, if I can combine all the best of each corners, but I couldn't break that 1:42 barrier this time either..... (I really wanted to see 1:41.999 instead of 1:42.xxx) Oh well, next time...

If I want to see low 1:40s, either I need a better car or a better driver.
.63 improvement is pretty damn solid. I find that if I prioritize rolling more speed through T1 and T11, times drop fast. Also, being flat/almost flat from T9-10 will net you solid time too. 1:42 moving. Congrats

A bit upset with myself on this one because I lifted prior to the PDR finish line when I saw the checkered flag For my own sanity I used the frames where the tower lines up with the LH side of the window and got 1:41.07 as the lap time. Still amazed with the car either way, though! I bet I can get <1:41 if I can get the entry on 5 just right and correct my line through 8/9 and 11, and maybe even get <1:40 someday

I was there yesterday with NASA. It rained all day Friday and Saturday morning, so the track was really green. I definitely prefer the Supercar 3's over the 3R's at this track; the 3R's are greasy on this surface and need a much looser steering wheel to stay hooked up.

Track = Gingerman Raceway

New top time, you make not like the feel of the 3R's, but they certainly do grip!

Only been to Thompson one other time in a different car nearly 4 years ago. There is lots more left on the table but it was great to get on track - there were three Z/28's running with me on this particular day.
1st Thompson entry up on the board!

Fast lap starts at 5:35 and ends at 8:17. Running with my friends GT350. We were doing "clean laps" not cutting corners or running wide, etc. This was after we were both just signed off solo during NASA HPDE. For sure there more time to be had here.
It's about time we have a COTA entry! Up on the board.

Pardon my lack of validation - but that lap time isn't fast enough to be worth lying about. LOL

Track: Watkins Glen International
Elapsed Time: 2:10.74
Camaro Model: '17 SS 1LE
Date: 7/5/18
Tires: Hankook RS4 305/30 Square on Apex 10.5 et22 wheels (also square)
Mods: Strut grind for camber/clearance, Hawk DTC60 pads, SRF Fluid, Track alignment

Also, start/finish didn't take during this session.... but I also had my AIM Solo in the car, the 2:10.74 is from AIM. If you watch with a stopwatch... you can also verify

As I mentioned in the 1LE forum, this was only my 2nd session on the RS4's, I took them off becuase I wanted time on the P Zero slicks, as rain was forcasted. This is my 4th ever dry session at Watkins Glen.

This was my only session in the ZL1 on P-Zero DH's this weekend. I wish I had gotten more time in the car, 1:32's are definitly possible... this lap was a walk in the park.

Ha, yeah, the car is just epic at the Glen. Though when I watch that lap, I find tons of time on the table still! I overbrake for T5 (outer loop), the cone @ the apex of T9 cost me by making me take a loopy line, then I'm 5-7 mph down on my normal minimum for T10. That being said, its a damn solid lap. Getting better/faster is what keeps me coming back!

Nice to know im not to far off pace. My fastest timed lap was a 2.05.94 and that was with me short shifting so I wouldn't get popped for sound again. I wasn't 100% sure stealth mode would do the trick(it did). At the end of the day I was thinking i was in the sub 2min range , but I didnt time or record anything.

Well, if you decide to come up do let me know and i can help navigating the usual logistics incl best events to attend. Mosport is very similar to the Glen in flow but shorter and faster. I just love old school tracks. My very fave is Mt Tremblant. A long hike, but worth it.
Hope to break into 11s at the Glen in Sept with NNJ PCA Advanced before i officially become a sr citizen lol!

Edit: i find t10 tricky...

I can't believe no one else is listing their times for Road Atlanta. I know I've seen several youtube videos that were faster than me.
