just to note with the first few questions. This is not invisible for warranty work, nor can you reverse it unless you're keeping your old unit (then the cost goes up to 1k usd)
Another thing to consider is that you do not want your dealer to ever flash Update your hmi after doing this. as that would undo everything the programmer at gen5diy did. So make sure that doesn't happen if you need to bring it in for service. |

While this is still not an option for 2020 yet, I have seen a few of these mods with different solutions. I was wondering if anyone just thought of getting a couple extra sensors like the one on the rear (if so equiped) and just wire tap into the same lines as the rear sensors and have your warnings all going through the factory equipment. Seems like a cheap solution to me, just a couple sensors and some wire. Maybe some heat shrink and solder or wire tap if you are feeling really spendy.

I am thinking something similar, but am too much challenged electronically to come up with a full solution on my own.
Idea: get a second shark fin camera, mount it in the front grill area and wire it in parallel with the existing rear system and have some sort of switch to have either the rear or front camera display in the OEM mirror display. Maybe easier to just unplug the rear facing camera and plug in the added front grill camera.......... Would need to wires and connectors to match up with the connectors already in the car.
