A8 “Q1 updated fix” -Delete if not aloud

To everyone that has the A8 trans with the new fluid that GM sent out. How has the new fluid been holding up? Do you still feel the transmission shuddering?

I had my 17 ss done at Reeder Chevrolet in Knoxville a few weeks ago. The new flush has worked great so far. No more shudder but I’ve only put about 400 miles on it. Time will tell because the first flush old style worked for a few thousand miles too. Got my fingers crossed cause I love the car.

Got the updated flush done about two weeks ago. It had been around 10,000 miles since the first flush.

So far everything's feels fine but I know it took at least 8000 miles for me to notice it coming back, and a bit longer before it came back reliably. But I know it came back worse than before the first flush.

My chosen dealer was quite backed up with A8s of all models getting the same flush done. It took 4 days, which they gave me a loaner for, and it took less than 20 minutes for the actual job that my dash cam recorded.

This is way sad. For you young folks or new to GM or both , GM has a track record. My 90 Sub paint went bad. GM repainted. It went bad again. 2009 GMC CC. Bad PVC set up coated the rings. Uses oil, a lot. Then AFM issues, noisy lifters, collapsed lifters and flatten cams. 2014+ shake, now A8 across the line up...Future? My bet is the DFM.

I just drove my 2018 1SS A8 home from the dealer/service dept after having TSB 18-na-355 done (65 miles). Shifts are crisper, quicker and more representative of a performance auto tranny. Car has a 11/17 build date, I purchased it 2/11/18, and now has 1541 miles. Noticed the shudder last November, about 1180 miles. After Christmas, shudder got a little more noticeable and asked the dealer service advisor about the shudder when it was in for an oil change, he said bring it in for diagnosis. They verified the shudder, loaned me a 2019 Colorado for a couple days, and now I am a happy camper. Let's hope this lasts.

I noticed the same thing. It definitely shifts better!
