fender flaps
With the wider tire what kind of rock chips guards is everyone using on their 1LE. Expecting delivery soon and want to see what everyone is using. Riverside Blue so black would look good.

Rokblokz. Easy install, great coverage against 1LE tires.

ACS and ZL1 Addons also make rock guards. I like the ACS rock guards because they are molded. I have the ACS rock guards along with ACS ZL1 style side skirts. The combination add a lot of protection to the car from rock chips and road debris.

I just installed the ZL1 Addon Deluxe Rock Guards and I like them. I like the ACS also, but I didn't feel like rock guards were worth hundreds of dollars. I felt like the ZL1 Addons were a good value (looked very nice for the price).

I say the same thing to all new 1LE owners, you need to get both the rock guards and the side skirts AND PPF in the area in front of the rear tires or that area will get completely blasted by debris and will basically be like sandblasting the paint. I got the exact same setup as Zpirate.

+1 on Rokblokz, easy install, stainless steel hardware and no adhesive or need to drill/rivet.
Easy to take on and off if you need to access the fender liner later (example, adding smoked side markers). |

I went with Rokblokz on my 1LE as well. I'm happy with them and they help a lot, though you will still get some debris thrown back. I had considered ACS, but as always their prices are ridiculous and hard to justify for a few pieces of plastic.

All of those are too short, you can have style, or protection, but not both. The $15 universals offer the protection you want and need but not the style. I use uni’s front and addons on the rear.

The side skirts keep rocks and road debris off the rockers and the sides of the car. You can sometimes hear the rocks hitting the underside of the side skirts while driving down the road. The 1LEs wide and sticky tires pick up all kinds of stuff off the road. Most any side skirts that fit the 1LE would offer similar protection.
In my opinion the combination of rock guards and side skirts provide a great deal of rock chip protection on a 1LE. So much so that you don't need additional PPF on the sides of the car.

The plan was to add rock guards, side skirts, PPF the front end and rear quarters from the seam down. The car will be tracked. thanks for the feedback.

Don't be shy with the PPF. I have chips well above the seam.

The rock guards/mud flaps stop the direct assault on the paint while the side skirts help block the secondary abuse. I have the ZL1addons rock guards and still have damage. Biggest thing is the Goodyears, they throw more junk than other tires. Switching to Continentals greatly reduced the rocks, by a lot.

I've been running the zl1 deluxe rock guards for like 4 years now. They have held up and work great. ACS look nicer but idk about them for ~4x the cost of the ZL1 addons ones. Though no matter what I highly recommend getting whatever brand, and would suggest front and rears. You might not care, but the rear ones really block a lot of rocks that you would otherwise fling at the cars behind you.
