Wiggly Rear End under Acceleration

Hi Guys,
I have a 2022 1SS 1LE M6 that I thoroughly enjoy on nice weather weekends on the backroads. One thing I notice immediately is that on hard pulls out of corners, once I'm mostly straight, the whole rear end feels like it does a left, right, left dance that dissipates once I have some speed.

Today as an experiment I found a steep hill that was completely straight and from the bottom in second gear I punched it and really felt the rear end dance left/right! From past reading on this forum I have read that the rear cradle bushings, which are soft, are most likely at fault?

My question as a non track guy, but someone who gets on it when the opportuntity presents itself and no one is in my way is, would installing a BMR BK063 Rear Cradle Bushing Kit significantly reduce this left/right dance of the rear end under hard acceleration, and by how much?

What mode are you doing this in? I have a feeling the elsd is making you fell this way and a certain mode will make it feel how you want.

I'm in Sport Mode all the time, I don't like the throttle pedal in Track.

Deal with the pedal and try ptm. It’s a major facet of the 1le package. You can’t get the elsd to function in sport like it does in ptm

Ok, I'll try Track Mode and PTM tomorrow. Do you think the squishy cradle bushings could also be playing a a part in the rear end wiggle?

I specifically do not use sport/tour mode when doing AutoX (like today) because the progressive throttle (it's regressive actually, but not a huge distinction) puts down power way too fast to hook up in tight turns. The linear throttle of track though is perfect for not breaking loose too easily. They made touring/sport like they did to increase drivability and make it put down power faster, say for going from 1st to 4th with skip shift. It's also easier on the foot obviously by not having to push so far.

Don't forget your alignment.
Improper rear toe will make the car feel squirrelly.

I haven't checked alignment on my car yet but when I do I will ask for the Track alignment and give a copy of the specs to the shop doing it.

Plenty of info on this. It is not your alignment. Install at a minimum the BMR lock out kit for ease of install or do a solid bushing

I'm thinking of installing the BMR lockout kit along with the upper and lower trailing arm kits followed by the track alignment.

I didn't notice the wiggle you're talking about on my 2017 SS 1LE before or after track alignment both when driving on the street and on the track. I also didn't notice it driving my buddy's 2018 SS 1LE with track alignment on 2 different tracks.

I did install the BMR BK063 Rear Cradle Bushing Kit since I do a lot of track days and afterwards I can feel oversteer starting more gradually than I could without it. It does increase vibration/harshness somewhat depending on the road surface, especially over bumps but the increase is not bad enough to prevent me from driving through a bunch of different states on trips. I have also repeatedly noticed that the rear end slides very slightly when you change lanes while full throttle over a crown in the road in 3rd or 4th gear like what you find on a 2 lane per side Interstate highway. I couldn't feel this before, probably because the rubber was absorbing or masking it. It is not enough of a slide to need to counter steer (at least with traction control on). It is not a great feeling but I'm getting used to it so it doesn't startle me as much when I feel it.

An alignment might be enough to fix your issue but I'm not sure.

Also are you on stock tires? I was for my previously mentioned experiences. Tires with softer sidewalls and/or different front to rear height ratio than stock could possibly cause issues.

I did all the rear end components a while back and it really helped!

1000 times THIS

It's not modes/PTM or the alignment though the alignment is worth something it's not the cause of what wiggle we get in these cars. I installed mine after grumbling on my 18 1LE with it a few years. Pretty much instantly gone. I can nail my ZL1 and it's just GONE.

If you've got a jack and some jack stands and like tools and stuff like that you can do it inside of two hours.
