Trying to improve the ride to keep from selling it.
I’ve been test driving quite a few cars as I am about ready to move on as the ride in this car just wears on me after daily driving it for almost 3.5 years and 45k miles. My son is a Chevy tech and found my rear shocks seeping tonight. Gonna see if his dealer can get them warrantied. Not sure if they have been making it worse, but I doubt they’re helping.
Has anyone upgraded the shocks or springs or done coilovers and truly improved the ride? I loved the great balance of handling and ride my 17 SS non-1le had. Would either of these two be a good way to go? I don’t want to spend big money and if I have to in order to achieve it, I would probably rather sell it. https://attackingtheclockracing.com/...UaAs7jEALw_wcB https://zzperformance.com/products/z...to6uLakN5JW1IU I guess I would need a mrc defeat device, not sure what those cost.

Time to move on. There wasnt a reason and still isnt a reason to buy a 1LE spec car for the street. And you have learned the hard way why. The ZL1 1LE guys have it WAY worse. Those DSSV cars are brutal on the ass/back for DD. And if you say its not, you are a straight up liar.
Get yourself a 2SS or something else. The CT4-V BWs are super nice and loaded with luxury and tech. Or a BMW M car. Or dare I say a mustang...lol |

I also have 3 1/2 years driving my daily (weather permitting) and I absolutely love it! I run typically in Sport, and exhaust always locked into Track.
As stated above, I would suggest selling it, nothing you do will make you happy, and it will take away from the marvelous engineering in this platform. Sell it and get an SS, or an LT1, or anything less track focused to get the ride you seek. |

Does the magnetic ride control help with the comfort of the Camaro? My Corvette C6 with the Z51 magnetic ride control had a beautiful ride, especially in Tour mode. I would say it was notably smoother than my 2023 Camaro that has no special suspension.

I have a 2SS and it rides pretty stiff on the street IMO…can’t imagine trying to daily it (or a 1LE for that matter). Probably fine if you’re in your 20’s lol. Our ‘22 Mustang GT is definitely more comfortable to cruise in.

Comfort is subjective to the driver, and I am NOT in my 20s, I'm 59!
I find it quite comfortable, even on 400+ mile road trips, in sport mode, I think I tried touring once for a few minutes.... Comfort is personal, go with the model that feels best to you. |

I grew up in the 70’s driving and my first Gen2 Camaro back in the day and it was not a comfortable ride. Maybe it’s what you came from driving that makes you feel the Camaro is not a nice ride. I love my 1LE and I drive in track competition mod always because of the tune and I just think it’s a great driving car. No complaints here.

Non-1LE is what you need. Get back into a 2SS.

My car has MRC with the non-1LE calibration, and the ride is noticeably more comfortable in tour mode. Not by an earth shattering margin (the new 4.0 version in the C8 is said to be somewhat more defined), but suspension modes are definitely distinguishable, and in Tour I can mostly just hear bumps but feel very little of them.

I am waiting for my 2ss 1le to ship currently so I have no experience with one. I currently am driving my 1ss non mag ride car. While much more comfortable than a cheap economy car, I don’t think I would like any version of a camaro as a daily. I’ll second what Josh said and the mustang is definitely a more comfortable and easier car to live with. Maybe wait and see what the new mustang is like after it comes out? You’ll have no issues selling your camaro as rally green is very desirable.

I've never been bothered by the ride as a DD, my 1LE before the ZL1, too.
I don't get those of you that buy these cars and then have these gripes...mileage, tires, it rides rough. |

I agree that I have no problems with the ride of my LT1 as DD but everyone has their own idea of acceptable ride level.
The only thing I did to improve the ride was to dump the run flats and get set of Continental EC DWS06+ tires which was an overall great upgrade for handling, traction, and less unsprung weight as well as better ride. To get better ride, as per above posts steps would be: #1 - Get out of 1LE model and into LT1 or SS model #2 - Trade run flats for good summer or all season non-run flats #3 - Trade down from 20" wheels to 19" or even 18" wheels see https://www.tirerack.com/ 245/45/19 gets you more sidewall and 245/50/18 gets you a lot more sidewall if comfort is top objective see https://tiresize.com/calculator/ to check out/compare tire size options #4 - Get the 1SS or 2SS so you can add MRC Hope that is helpful.
