Need help please. When removing the old rear spoiler, I have removed the six existing nuts, but the old spoiler doesn't seem to want to come off. I think it may have an adhesive seal and need recommendations for removing it without damaging anything.

Found it on a competitors website. It involves using fishing line to break the adhesive tape seal. Also, there are two clips, one at each end that additionally holds it down

Could not figure out how to rotate the pics sorry. Last edited by Showguns; 12-10-2016 at 05:05 PM. Reason: . |

This is a picture of the rear above the left tail light where the spoiler meets up with the rest of the trunk lid. The paint could have been a little bit better here

Overall, the install went well. I found that the template was hard to use to lign everything up perfectly and didn't have the middle hole marked.
For the SS decklid, you have to drill 3 holes. The left and right hole that you have to drill line up with holes that is already in the bottom of the decklid. Open your trunk and you will see what I mean. For the left and right holes, I ended up drilling from the inside of the trunk lid to make sure that it lines up properly. The middle hole that you have to drill is farther back than the existing 2 middle holes. I put the spoiler in place and scratched the paint with the bolt (on purpose) where that middle hole has to be drilled. I measured the existing holes that are reused by the RPI spoiler and drilled the new holes the same size using a step bit. Just be careful with that middle location because there is something on the inside of the trunk that you can hit if you go too deep. After test fitting the spoiler I used some clear nail polish to coat the bare metal from the drilled holes. I put the supplied clear stickers over the unused holes. I then used some RTV around the base of the spoiler bolts to help seal those holes. Only issue that I have is that the outside bolts are a little bit too long. The driver side spoiler bolt sticks down too far to get the black rubber cap to stay on. Overall, I love the look and it was a good price so I am happy. Had good customer service as well.
