For $7K I would think they could have painted the hood black. A wrap so cheap.

Good enough, it’s 2018 and one day if needed I can get it re-wrapped.

I don’t know if it’s a good price, but I had a shop tell me $300 for a hood. Not sure what brand. I didn’t ask. I know they use 3M, Oracle, and Avery Dennison.

i disagree with this. the hood wrap on the car i had was barely a year old before it started peeling at the corners and was wrinkled up at the vents. garage since day 1. pretty much only came out at night.

i paid $400 a couple years ago for a 3m satin wrap locally. the same guy frequently did them for dealerships bc so many camaros came with shoddy wraps. the satin looked way better and his quality of work was above any factory application imo.

So I've got some experience with this for those who have the hood wrap or PPF wrinkling around the vent area. I ended up having to pay for PPF twice due to the vent tabs biting into the PPF and rubbing it and lifting it basically. Once I figured out that the tabs, more like a slightly raised bump, caused the issue I used a dremel and sanded the edges so it was completely smooth.

When the wrinkled PPF was removed, it ruined the factory vinyl wrap and was also removed. Installer cut me a deal and used Stek Dyno black satin PPF. With the smoothed out edges around the vent, no more issues of lifting anywhere. Very happy with the result, and **** those tabs. Costed me an extra $400

Had my 1LE parked in the Florida sun since 2017, no issues of any kind with the hood wrap.
