Them "reinventing the market" just means they want to abandon the old playfield, ditch their products and attempt to play the same game in the perceived upwardly mobile EV market.

For this reason, with the exception of Tesla pioneering and guinea pigging the market, such possibilities in software are unlikely to translate into usable functionality under the current climate (pun intended).

The flip side is equally true and is more likely unfortunately—instead of the (optional) "Randy Pobst - Willow Springs" tune you crave, you'll get a mandatory speed and acceleration limiter called something like "gm 'everybody in' advanced velocity management calibration update for maximum safety, climate preservation and equity" one morning, say, as a result of a street racing crash that incurs a 'massive uproar' caused by 'flagrant disregard of the law' by 'subversive elements in our society'. Modern technology makes it that much easier to brute force everyone into submission than to weed out the chaff.
Agreed, manufacturers could implement these new control systems but it took a company like Tesla to disrupt the market. Now GM and Ford are hiring software developers instead of line workers.

You are probably right about the speed restrictions coming. I recently got in to sim racing so I can have some fun once they shut us all down.

I take my car to the track. I use a 1/2 tank to get there, 1/2 tank to get back, and I need 2 tanks to last me the whole day 6-7 20 min sessions. The tracks I go to have no high voltage infrastructure.

And even if they did, there would be a line, and it would be a a few hours of charge time to last the whole day, and get me home. No way.

Infrastructure is not there, and charge times are way too long. Not applicable to my use case.

Engineering!
Those passive shocks read like they're similar to the Edelbrock IAS shocks, which I liked a lot. I'd be really surprised if they overtake mag-ride.

I've decided if I do buy the 4 door camaro EV.

I will buy a 20" Sub and 2 x 6x9" and a 3000 watt AMP with two MP3's

Track 1: V8 engine rev sound
Track 2: V8 1/4 mile run sound

Port the speakers out the back

Then I should be good

Took my Acadia to my GMC dealer for a warranty issue. Service advisor said they have a Hummer on the lot with $120k sticker. They only want $200k for it, lol.
