Driving modes

So, as I did with my SS 1LE, I set my ZL1 suspension and exhaust to track and steering to sport, which I like.

With the SS 1LE, I kept the mode select button in sport because throttle response in track mode was dead at less than half throttle, and the ZL1 feels the same. However, when trying Tour mode, throttle response seems even better than Sport. Is my perception correct?

Also, can I assume that Tour mode gives full power as well?

Thanks.

It seems that way with my ZL1 in Tour mode also but most all the time I have it in Sport mode because the exhaust is louder! Sometimes I will get in Track mode too but not too often!

Although I have the mode selector in Tour mode for throttle response, I have the exhaust independently set to Track through the settings screen. Best of both.

Yeah Mal, I put my fuse back in and set my exhaust mode to Auto. I had it set in Track mode with the fuse pull and kept waking up my neighbor Lady every morning when going to work and decided I would change it back to stock. She was cool about it too and a real good neighbor that helps look out for my house while I’m away during the day!

I like to drive sport 1 and sport 2 in the TCM.
Gives more power and the traction control doesnt kick in too often.

For short drives its always in sport.

Does sport 1 and sport 2 deliver MORE power, or just different power DELIVERY?
I thought the modes do not affect max power. ???

I am not a big fan of the Track throttle mapping either for daily driving. Having said that, in order to use the PTM modes, you have to be in Track Mode.

The PTM modes give you better E-Diff. calibrations when cornering, that is why I like to use them. They pull you around a tight corner better. Noticeable on on/off ramps tight corners. In Sport Mode the E-Diff. binds up (locks up) quicker and sooner. While in PTM modes (at least in Sport 1 and above) it keeps one side unlocked longer. It might even over drive the outer wheel, but I am not too sure about that one.

I'm getting old so I don't remember shit but, I'm pretty sure if you keep it in TOUR because you like the throttle response , You wont go into performance mode when you put your foot to the floor on I75.

No matter which mode you have selected or PTM selected, the car still gives the same power.

The way it shifts and how the nannies (traction control, throttle, stability control, etc) intervene are the only things that differ.

The E-diff is a key factor you are leaving out. There are 4 E-diff modes. The more aggressive modes are used only within the PTM Modes.

Thats why I put etc since you already talked about the e-diff.

I didn't want some people to think that tour doesn't give you 100% power compared to snow/ice, sport, track or the different PTM modes.

Soler Performance Throttle controller. Problem fixed. Best $80 you'll ever spend.
