Yup, I was right, if you drive in tour mode, you dont get the performance drive mode.

So on another note, I'm at a thousand miles now and I'm starting to really get on the gas.

The weather here has varied from mid 60's to high 80's. Today, the temp was indicating 89, and the car didn't feel that strong. I'm assuming that, like turbo cars, the supercharged ZL1 is noticeably affected by outside temp and heat soak, yes?

Also, when I was winding it up in 2nd gear, at 6K rpm the boost gauge was between the 2nd and 3rd lines. Is this about right? I thought I would see close to the 15. I just want to be sure that everything is working properly since this is my first SC car.

Thanks.

Outside temp increase will reduce power a bit, but it feels like more compared to driving when it's cooler out, because the tires will also have more grip, so there is less spinning when you stab the throttle. Between the grip the car has and Chevy's street tuning, these cars really put the power down, and feel super planted.

You should have right around 10 psi peak boost. I think GM states 9.4 from the factory.

Funny you should say that., I made a post about that in 2017, I found the magic number, LOL 82F, anything above that temp the car loses power down here in FL.

No worries Mal about your ZL1!! The warm weather does have an effect on the car but since you are around 1000 miles the engine is still breaking in and will get better with more miles. My ZL1 is the first supercharged car I have owned and I can tell that mine is getting faster and running better since the mileage is almost 11,000. I have owned mine a little over a year and it is getting better with time! Hang in there and enjoy your new hotrod!

Took the car out this morning. Boost gauge goes to just short of the third line, which right around 10 lbs if the gauge is accurate.

So, how do I get a couple more lbs?

New supercharger, Maggie 2300/2650, or Whipple 2.9, or Edelbrock 2650, or...

The stock LT4 supercharger is small (1.7L), already spinning very fast and generates a lot of heat. I for one wouldn't pulley it just to reach 15 psi of boost that is at the end of the gauge scale.

I just read up on the Whipple 2.9. Holy shit! 70% more capacity, less heat and parasitic loss, more efficient, and 100+ hp. And, a bolt on! A shame that my investment accounts are in mayday mode.
