LT5

I was in the Chevy dealer yesterday getting Fox Racing Coilovers put on my Z71, and what do I see. An LT5 smiling at me. I asked them if they could put it in the ZL1 on the showroom if I bought it. They smiled with no words and that is all I got out of them. I am thinking that tells me something or wish full thinking.

Here it is for the ZL1 in a swap kit.

Wishful thinking, most dealers know about as much as you do, or less about the car youre going to buy.

Looks like that kit from Crawford is just an LT5 supercharger swap, not a full engine swap. And it's $15,800, although that does include a separate ECU.

I think you're better off getting a Magnuson TVS 2650 SC for ZL1 and buy supporting mods--it's under $7,000 with fit kit, 103 mm TB and pulley. And it fits under the CF heat extractor.

I hope they dont do a ZL1 with LT5 as I will have to buy it, immediately, if it has a 10spd.

I traded my 2017 ZL1 M6. After getting the A10 in my 6.2L Z71. The ZL1 I sat in yesterday with the A10 would be the way to go. It was hard sitting in it missing my ZL1.

I see what you are saying. Then not a good post. Not a good deal when I see all of these places selling it for barely over the same price.

I have a 19 A10 ZL1 now. If the Z/28 with a LT5, good curb weight and an A10 comes out, im in for around 80k or so. Above that ill just send the car as it is to Katech for their Maggie conversion with longtubes.

Katech is a good place to get things done.

Agreed. I pretty much dont trust many shops at all except Jannetty, Lingenfelter and Katech these days.

I would add Vengence Racing and Redline Motorsports out of Florida. I got two quotes from Rich Trupia for the Phase-2 and Phase-3 upgrade. I was going for the Phase-2. They were going to ship the car for me and I was going to fly down and drive it back. That would have been fun. But now my life has changed. Sad to see the ZL1 go

key word here is "most". Some specialize in doing some pretty good aftermarket work.

Vengeance is local to me. Heard good and bad about them, guess that goes with any shop, but their prices are a bit out there in comparison to Katech I think.

I agree ^

But the better option is to buy the complete LT5 motor for 15k, better injectors and run the wide band $3600 CR fueler that can run the port injection and the electronic SC valve. Who cares about the hood! Then you sale your LT4 motor for 8k minimum and you come out better than the Maggi with the XDI system by about 6k or more especially since you get a 95 mm TB and all!
