Illuminated Sill Plates

For those of you who have installed these, do you have to start by disconnecting the battery. No were in the instructions does it mention
that but I am not a fan of working on live circuits, ie accidental shorts.

I did mine recently, no need to disconnect the battery. Just be careful when splicing into the gray wire on the harness under the driver side dash. I suppose it's always possible to blow a fuse.

I assume with a 3LT, they are installed at the factory right?
