Thank you for all the replies thus far, wanted to report back with an update

Car has been taken to the big dealer here in my area where they have an excellent bodyshop. I was really hoping it would be considered totaled but then again Id be on the hunt for another 13 1LE. Going to lawyer up for the deminished value. As it stands now, the bumper, the matte vinyl on the hood (potentially the entire hood if need be), the left fender, the driver side front control arm, and various other items like the washer fluid reservoir and pump, will be replaced for an estimation of 6k

Now I tried jumping on the ZL1 bumper converstion bandwagon and the dealer advised that there is no way to connect the ZL1 bumper fog lights to the stock fog lights. Can someone shed some light on the topic? Should I go ahead and tell him to do it anyway and figure it out later? I was quoted for about 1k on parts for the ZL1 bumper.

edit: Decided to go with the ZL1 bumper despite the DRL issue, for 1.2k estimation.

demand GM parts. I dont think any of that is made aftermarket anyway. That can be fixed right up like new.

I'm sure gen5diy can hook you up with the appropriate harness(es).

Most of the parts that car needs are available as aftermarket pieces. Good luck in demanding all GM.

Only had her for 2 months..

I had almost the same situation, most of my replacement parts were NOT GM. And my total was $8,300.00. There are a lot of internals and externals that are aftermarket. Most of my OEM replacements were parts such as the hood and a few small pieces. The pic was from my accident and required tie rods, control arms, struts, radiator and other "under the hood" applications. Don't be scared though, a good shop will do excellent work but it's pricey. My shop has a Camaro specialist on payroll and he took care of mine and I can honestly say it drives better now than before I drive it off the car lot brand new. and for after being repaired:

Finally back home, looking better than before!

Got the ZL1 front bumper, didn't have to pay for any additional. Only thing I had to do was take off the ZL1 emblem and she's perfect. For some reason, the DRL only comes on when I unlock the car, but that's it, never when in gear or out of car, outside or inside, lights or off.. not even when automatic lights are on in clear daylight.. probably something with the wiring. Now I need some sideskirts..

(a little dirty, but that can be fixed)

Glad to see it back on the road. Does it drive straight? Is steering wheel centered?

All's well that ends well! It would break my heart to see mine crunched too but in these days of bolt-on metal and plastic parts, they literally are good as new when repaired. Looks real nice. Enjoy.

Thank you for all the responses! And yes, it drives straight.. very first thing I did leaving the dealership was take it on the highway to make sure its straight and no shaking. Very happy with the results, looks good as new (if not, better!)

The only problem I've noticed is that for some reason, the driver turn signal and the angel eye are significantly dimmer compared to the untouched passenger side.. not sure what could be causing this.. bad wiring, bad ground, or bad ballast? I left a voicemail to the dealership regarding this and hopefully it's a simple solution. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Hard to see in the photo, a lot more clearer in person.

Did they use OEM or aftermarket headlamp?

rang the dealer up and they stated that my car has the aftermarket set and not the OEM, and that he ordered a new one for me. should be hearing back tomorrow for a quick swap. didnt know there were 2 types of these RS headlights. i had the car used and everything was supposidely stock. maybe the lights were aftermarket from factory or something.

Real shame to hear about that. It sucks when our rides get hurt for a fault not our own /:. Just remember the car is a materialistic thing that can be replaced with an even faster one in the future so be glad everyone (even the one at fault) is okay and I agree get checked out anyways. You never know how mysterious a head injury or back injury could be
